Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four children born in Newark the state of New Jersey, on August 9, 1963. Their parents include gospel vocalists Cissy Houston - n e Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick also was an international singer. As a child she performed in the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. At the age of she was fifteen, Houston was singing professionally with backing vocals alongside her mother for Chaka Khan's 1978 song Im Every Woman. After that, she began to sing backing vocals with Lou Rawls and Jermaine and her mother. In 1983, she was a part of the New York City funk-rock band Material recruited her to be the band's main vocalist. Their quality was the reason she was enthused to join major record label Arista. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut record for a new artist in 1985. Many of the songs on her album became hits, such as The Greatest Love of All and Saving All My Love. The album debuted in 1987 and sold 25 million copies around the world. The album Whitney was released in 1987, and featuring the smash tracks What Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, built upon her previous success. It is The Bodyguard (1996) that established her as the top selling album in music. The film, and her performance as a character was not appreciated, however, the soundtrack and her rendition to Dolly's I Will Always Love You were charted for months in the charts, and she sold over 44 million albums and singles worldwide. It was also in 1993 when she was married to Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition artist with whom she bore the sole child of her marriage, Bobbi Kristina Brown. In 1996, the drug use that has been widely documented began.
Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz or Dana Ruth Schwartz, as she's well-known as, is an American journalist and political analyst at CNN. The anchor also hosts a few show on weekends for the channel including Evans & Novak Late Edition as well as Inside Politics. She has worked for other well-known channels, including NBC as well as CBS. Coming to her honours and awards Bash was previously included in the Women in Washington Power List in Elle magazine.
