Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's mother and father are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children into Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. They was in a house that didn't have electricity. Television books were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was twelve years old. Lucas the film, which was released in 1986 that she was in, was her debut major part. Ryder was only 15 at the time she was cast. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. Ryder believed that if she became an actor, her behavior was going to be corrected. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. However, she continued to pursue her goals. In 1988, she received her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played parts that proved successful in various films. In 1993, she was awarded an Academy Prize for The Age of Innocence.
